“Whatever joy there is in this world, all comes from desiring others to be happy and whatever suffering there is in this world, all comes from desiring myself to be happy.”
– Shantideva

Dear Friends,

As another year comes to an end, we at the Ripa Ladrang Foundation wish you a wonderful Holiday Season and New Year. The holidays provide an excellent opportunity for reflection and gratitude. We would like to thank each of you for your generous support through the years and especially in 2021.

As an organization, we have experienced many positive changes this year including numerous teaching tours by each of our three Masters. You will be receiving a comprehensive President’s Letter for the year 2021 shortly after our upcoming Losar celebration. Alan Goldstein, President of Ripa Ladrang Foundation, will outline details of our accomplishments for this past year as well as define the challenges and priorities that lie ahead.

Our founder, His Eminence Terton Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche has always characterized the purpose of the Ripa Ladrang Foundation with one word…Virtue. Our core mission is the preservation of Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism; the teachings and activities of His Eminence and the Ripa Lineage Buddhist Masters; humanitarian aid to communities in need and the preservation of Tibetan culture and arts. Through your generosity, the foundation has been able to accomplish a great deal this year.

We encourage you to join or renew your membership to the foundation for 2022 before December 31, 2021. The Internal Revenue Service reminds taxpayers that a special tax provision will allow more Americans to easily deduct up to $600 in donations to qualifying charities on their 2021 federal income tax return. Ordinarily, people who choose to take the standard deduction cannot claim a deduction for their charitable contributions. But a temporary law change now permits them to claim a limited deduction on their 2021 federal income tax returns for cash contributions made to qualifying charitable organizations. Nearly nine in 10 taxpayers now take the standard deduction and could potentially qualify.

Under this provision, individual tax filers, including married individuals filing separate returns, can claim a deduction of up to $300 for cash contributions made to qualifying charities during 2021. The maximum deduction is increased to $600 for married individuals filing joint returns. Learn about this year’s $600 IRS TAX DEDUCTION for charitable donations now.

We are extremely grateful for your continued support and generosity. Happy Holidays!

With Love and Gratitude,
The Ripa Ladrang Foundation
