SUMMARY:How to Bring Meaning and Purpose into One’s Life
DESCRIPTION:With Dungsey Lhuntrul Dechen Gyurmey Rinpoche \nIn this morning talk Dungsey Lhuntrul Dechen Gyurmey Rinpoche will speak about what makes life meaningful\, and how one can find one’s way to give the best of one’s self in life. \nOften in  Buddhism the importance of gaining merit and wisdom are emphasized as being the foundation for eventually attaining enlightenment. It is through merit that we gain insight and wisdom\, and eventually develop boddhicitta. \nInitially\, we develop merit by what we offer to others and to our environment. By developing\, cultivating and refining altruistic intent\, our attitude and motivation in giving\, we share the best of ourselves with others – it  is what distinguishes us as human beings\, and as individuals\, and brings purpose\, even grace\, to what we do. Nobility develops by opening our hearts to others. \nAs one example of how a noble offering can transform others’ lives\, and bring sacredness to it\, the Boddhisattva Manjushri once stated that “If you live in a house decorated with flowers\, your mind will abide (in calmness) and attain (spiritual) fruit.”  Thus a seemingly simple gesture of offering flowers can have a more profoundly positive impact than we may realize. By reflecting upon and developing what it is that we wish to offer\, our lives can be completely transformed through the richness we discover within ourselves\, and are then able to share with others\, if we are able to bring our gifts forth. \nAnd\, further\, by reflecting and gaining insight about the ultimate purpose of the opportunity of having a human life\, what the ultimate good could be\, complete enlightenment\, we might begin to more fully appreciate how incredibly fortunate we actually are.

DESCRIPTION:With Dungsey Lhuntrul Dechen Gyurmey Rinpoche \nPurifying fasting ritual at Ripa International Center from 22nd to 25th of May 2015 or from 22nd to 27th of May 2015 \nWe are pleased to announce that Dungsey Lhuntrul Dechen Gyumrey Rinpoche will lead our next annual purifying fasting ritual of Nyung Ne practice. Rinpoche is ordained by Kyabje Drupwang Penor Rinpoche and revealed as the reincarnation of the 3rdTamdrin Lhunpo Chogtrul Rinpoche. This practice of Chenrezig (Avalokiteshvara) that can be followed by beginners and more advanced students is made out of a one day and an half fasting period complete with instructions\, prayer and moment of silence. It will also be possible to take part to the second cycle of the fasting lasting for another one and and half day. \nThe spiritual leader of our center\, Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche\, is recommending this practice to us\, which will take place during the month of Saga Dawa\, as an annual ritual of purification. The Nyung Ne is a traditional Tibetan practice of purifying fasting based on the prayers of Avalokiteshvara\, the Buddha of compassion. Every year at this time\, it is practiced by communities of monasteries in India and Nepal that are under the guidance of Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche and of Lhuntrul Dechen Gyurmey Rinpoche. \nWe kindly ask you to register as soon as possible\, in order to have the best organization possible\, and no later than the 8th of May 2015. Teachings will be in Tibetan with French translation. \nAbout the Teacher\nLhuntrul Dechen Gyurmey Rinpoche was born\, in keeping with Guru Rinpoche’s prophecy\, in 1976 as the son of His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche and Khandro Chime Drolkar. He was recognized as the reincarnation of Jigme Tempay Gyeltsen\, the 3rd Tamdrin Lhunpo Chogtrul. In conjunction with his recognition\, he was enthroned at Namdroling monastery in Mysore amidst an ocean of lamas\, tulkus\, and monks presided over by Kyabje Drupwang Penor Rimpoche\, who bestowed upon him the name Gyurme Thegchog Shedrub Tnpay Gyeltsen.

DESCRIPTION:Amrit Wagner will lead an in depth exploration of the Shiné meditation practice. Shiné is also known as Shamatha meditation. \nBy using the breath as a guide\, the external and internal distractions are pacified\, so that the thoughts and emotional turmoil of the mind are brought to rest (SHI = pacify)\, and thus one returns to one’s internal center and abides there (NE = remain). Learn how a calmer\, more relaxed and more spacious mind makes dealing with one’s self and with others easier and more enjoyable. We will do sitting practice\, and between sessions\, to support us – some movement (for body awareness)\, as well as listen to music\, and share wisdom stories.
