SUMMARY:Ripa Awareness Meditation LIVE With Geneviève Hamelet
DESCRIPTION:“Learning to live well with others involves living well with every aspect of our minds.”— Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche \nDear Friends\, \nRipa Awareness Meditation (RAM) is a simple and effective method to stabilize the mind using SHAMATA\, a millenary technique that uses breathing as a support to develop “mental calm”. Once the mind is settled\, aspects of VIPASSANA meditation\, or “penetrating vision”\, are introduced\, facilitating approaches that free the mind from conceptual fabrication.  Attentive presence and mindfulness work together to help us accept life situations as they are and make them the very object of our meditative practice. \nThe Ripa Awareness Meditation (RAM) method was developed by Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche\, authentic master of Tibetan Buddhism of the Ripa lineage. \nIn this online weekend\, Geneviève Hamelet\, a senior instructor and long time student of Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche\, will guide participants through the most salient aspects of this meditation technique\, to experience calm abiding and discover insight. \n\nRipa Awareness Meditation (RAM) is a simple and effective method to stabilize the mind using SHAMATA\, a millenary technique that uses breathing as a support to develop “mental calm”. SUMMARY:Ripa Awareness Meditation (RAM) – Weekly meditation sessions
DESCRIPTION:With Amrit Wagner\nOpen Dates \n\n\n\n“Ripa Awareness Meditation” is a simple and effective method that helps stabilize the mind\, using the Shamatha technique or calm-abiding meditation; once the mind has settled\, the application of Vipassana meditation tools allows the practitioner to gain access to more subtle aspects of his mind\, thus allowing him a true exploration of the nature of phenomena and reality. \nThe method was conceived by the master of Tibetan Buddhism\, Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche to benefit his students around the world. \nA new cycle of practice for beginners will open this year: \nBeginners: RAM-Shamata 8-week cycle \nThis 8-week cycle on Shamata meditation aims at familiarizing participants with the meditation technique of Shamata\, or calm-abiding meditation\, a traditional Buddhist method that uses the breath as a support to calm the mind. \nThe practice of this type of meditation results in a more calm\, focused\, and stable mind. \nIt is an ideal practice for those wishing to discover meditation for the first time. \nNo previous meditation experience needed \nEvery Tuesday from 19:30 to 21:00\, from April 23 to June 11 \nFee for the 8-week program: $ 240 \nInfo & registration: info@ripa-international.com \nThe current advanced group guided by Amrit Wagner will continue every Thursday \nAdvanced – RIPA AWARENESS MEDITATION \nRAM-(Shamata/Vipassana) 8-week cycle \nThis 8-week cycle on Shamata/Vipassana meditation aims to help participants deepen their meditation practice. Participants are guided through a methodic and progressive approach of exploration of the mind\, following the traditional Buddhist Sutra of The Four Foundations of Mindfulness.   \nIt is addressed to participants with previous meditation experience. \nEvery Thursday from 19:30 to 21:00\, from April 25 to June 13  \nFee for the 8-week program: $240 \nInfo & registration: info@ripa-international.com \n\n\nTHE IMPORTANCE OF MEDITATION: “The only way to know mind and to attain wisdom is through meditation. In repose\, in space\, in silent time\, answers can come. Wisdom and insight wash away problems. Transformation occurs in stillness. Through the practice of mindfulness\, the elementary harmony that creates wind horse – the Tibetan expression for positive energy – is created. Relaxation will then translate into everyday life and bring benefits. Internal change will bring external change. When we are clear and equipped with insight\, we are in a place to help others. It is by developing wisdom and compassion that we are able to be of the greatest assistance to others…. compassion heals.” – Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche \n\n\nAbout the Teacher\n\nAmrit Wagner\nAmrit Wagner is an approved meditation instructor under the guidance of Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche.

SUMMARY:The Satipatthana Sutra – How the Buddha Taught Mindfulness
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\nAn experiential perspective from Early Buddhism \nMindfulness is en-vogue. While Mindfulness is being adopted by the modern world\, many of the more subtle and critical aspects of the practice are overlooked and being lost. \nVery few know where Mindfulness comes from\, how it was understood in the context of Early Buddhist practice\, in which larger context mindfulness was practiced\, and to what end. \n\n\n\nThe Satipatthana Sutra is well known as the main source for Buddhist teachings on mindfulness and its place in the Buddhist path\, and is hailed as the direct path to realization. In this short retreat\, we will use Bhikkhu Analayo’s translation of the Sutra\, in conjunction with his instructions on how to practice\, with the aim to explore deeper the original source of Mindfulness and benefit from its power for deep transformation. \nDiego Hangartner completed his studies in pharmacology at the ETHZurich\, specializing in psychopharmacology and addiction. He lived for 11 years in Dharamsala\, India\, learned Tibetan\, and studied for 7 years at the Institute of Buddhist Dialectics in the Tibetan language. He has completed multiple meditation retreats of several months\, worked as an interpreter\, translating Tibetan into many languages\, and published several books. On returning to Europe\, he taught widely\, and organized many large events with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. He participates in research aimed at exploring the benefits of meditation as a long-term practitioner. \nDiego is associated with and worked for the Mind and Life Institute since the 1990’s: he was Mind and Life’s COO from 2009 – 2012 in the USA\, founded Mind and Life Europe in 2008\, and was its director until 2015. \nHis teachers include His Holiness the Dalai Lama\, Khamtul Rinpoche\, Jigme Khyentse Rinpoche\, Mingyur Rinpoche and Bhikkhu Analayo – with each spending many years of close study. \nGoogle Calendar  ICS\n\nPrice: USD 297.– /CHF 290.–  (excl. accommodation)

SUMMARY:RAM : Ripa Awareness Meditation
DESCRIPTION:With Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche\nNovember 9 – 11\, 2018 \nREGISTER NOW \nHosted by Padma Ling Paris. Please visit their website for further information and to register . \nThe “Ripa Awareness Meditation” method was designed by Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche\, an authentic master of Tibetan Buddhism of the Ripa lineage\, with an international reputation. \nIt is a simple and effective method that stabilizes the mind by using SHAMATA\, a millennial technique that uses breathing to develop “mental calm.” It then introduces aspects of VIPASSANA meditation\, or “penetrating vision\,” facilitating approaches that liberate the spirit from conceptual fabrication. \nThrough training\, RAM leads to more subtle aspects of the mind\, allowing a true exploration of the nature of phenomena and reality. \nBy welcoming our emotions\, our reflections\, and the habitual tendencies of our mind as they present themselves\, without judgment or rejection\, we gain access to a space conducive to a more authentic acceptance of ourselves and others. \nAttentive Presence and Mindfulness work together to help us accept life situations as they are\, and are the focus of our meditative practice. \nFor the event\, people wishing to eat on site can register for free online pre-bookings to indicate their preferences. \nNote that a minimum of 30 people is required to set up a catering service. \nIf we do not reach this number we will notify you before the event by phone. \nTwo meals are offered for lunch on November 10 and November 11. \nLunch is 23 euros with drinks and desserts. \n  \n  \nAbout the Teacher\n\nDungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche\nDungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche was born in India in 1970\, the tenth day of the sixth month of the year of the Earth Monkey\, on the anniversary of Guru Rinpoche’s birth. SUMMARY:Medicine Buddha : A Buddhist Approach to Health and Well-Being
DESCRIPTION:With Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche \nREGISTER NOW\nIllness\, which is an integral part of our lives\, is caused by an imbalance of our vital energies and the best remedy lies within ourselves: help re-establish harmony within those energies through meditating techniques that evoke our own healing resources. \nWe connect with nature through the five basic elements present in the universe and in ourselves. As long as balance is maintained within these elements\, we remain healthy\, while the abusive use of one element destroys the harmony necessary to our physical and mental constitution\, which is at the root of the problems that poison our life. \nThe practice of healing according to the Buddha of Medicine inspires us to work not only on an outer level\, but deep within ourselves\, thus balancing vital forces to bring inner harmony and outer health. \nGyetrul Jigme Rinpoche\, is a master of Tibetan Buddhism\, recognized in both Kagyu and Nyingma schools\, he is the spiritual director of the Ripa International Center. He has taught for more than twenty years in Europe in a particularly lively\, practical and contemporary way. \n\nNormal Price : $ 226.– / € 195.– \nReduced Price *: $ 186.– / € 160.– \n(*students\, seniors\, unemployed or members of Ripa and Padma Ling) \n  \nAbout the Teacher\n\n\nDungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche\nDungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche was born in India in 1970\, the tenth day of the sixth month of the year of the Earth Monkey\, on the anniversary of Guru Rinpoche’s birth. SUMMARY:BBTR Yoga Fusion – Biodynamic Breathwork and Trauma Release\, Infused with Different Yogic Techniques to Prepare the Body for Deep Breathing
DESCRIPTION:REGISTER NOW\nUsing specific yoga poses from kundalini and Hatha yoga we will prepare the body and use powerful BBTR tools to unlock stored emotions and unresolved traumas. \nThese practices are used to help assist our human journey and to follow our dreams\, to clarify our life’s mission and purpose by clearing inner spaces\, and to ultimately find the expression of our voice and potential. \nIt is said that 90% of our pains\, stresses\, anxieties are linked to stuck emotions and unresolved trauma from the developmental and embryonic stages\, and from the different life experiences from birth to adulthood. \nDuring this retreat you will be able to increase your general awareness of the emotions stored in the body\, by allowing the yoga practice and powerful breathing approach to stimulate any stagnant areas in the physical body and subtle spaces and to allow your vital energy to flow. \nWe will use yoga poses to open the body and target the practice to increase the vibration of the chakras\, using a fluid kundalini practice working from the root chakra up to the crown chakra.  With specific hatha yoga poses we will ground and find balance and harmonise our mind and body. \nBBTR has a potential to release the effects of long unresolved traumas\, thus supporting general healing of our physical organism and psyche. Breath work can prevent an onset of debilitating and potentially life-threatening trauma-related diseases. Conscious use of breath by many existing breathwork modalities can help individuals to live with vitality and radiant health. \nBreathwork is a general term describing numerous available modalities that use the breath as a main tool for exploring alternate states of consciousness\, meditation as well as in therapy. \nPeople around the world\, seeing the power of it\, have used breath as a healing tool since ancient times. Even Latin words for breath and spirit are the same. Breathwork utilizes conscious manipulation or controlling of breathing patterns to achieve a certain desired results. The amounts of O2 and CO2 we take in\, expel or maintain in our blood levels have direct effect of on our physical bodies and well-being. Various breathwork modalities make use of scientific information available to us about effects of levels oxygenation on our organism. These modalities utilize special breathing techniques\, which support increasing or decreasing levels of oxygen in our body to achieve a desired result. \nA direct connection between our breath and our emotional responses is utilized by many existing Breathwork modalities. Many modern body-oriented psychotherapy modalities\, such as Bioenergetic Therapy founded by Alexander Lowen\, as well as mainstream therapies rooted in foundation of the work of famous body-oriented psychologist Wilhelm Reich use breath as one of their main tools. \nDANIEL ANNER \nI discovered Iyengar Yoga in San Francisco in 2002 after my studies in psychology. Since then\, I practiced different styles of yoga and trained annually with different world renown teachers in Ashtanga\, Iyengar and Kundalini Yoga. \nSince 2005\, I taught in many different institutions such as the World Economic Forum\, the World Trade Organization\, the Four Seasons Hotel\, the UNHCR\, a private clientele\, at the Geneva International School. I also teach at festivals in Chamonix\, Bali and Barcelona\, and am also dedicated to teach people in need as well as parents and children. Since 2007\, I have been training in Thai Massage\, Osteothai\, AcroYoga\, Craniosacral and Breathwork.  I love to learn about healing\, for myself and to help others find their way. \nIn 2010 I founded the Geneva Yoga Festival and helped launch different festivals in Geneva and Paraty in Brazil. \nI am fully dedicated to spreading my passion for holistic health and therapies\, and have organized many events for the last 10 years. \nI am changing my direction to focus on working deeply with people using yoga\, craniosacral therapy and BBTR approach in the form of individual sessions\, teaching collective groups and in festivals to follow my journey as a yogic healer\, letting go of the organiser hat. \nI look forward to share my skills with you during this intensive and transformative weekend. \nGoogle Calendar  ICS\n\nNormal price: 301 USD / 260 Euros \nReduced price: 278 USD / 240 Euros

SUMMARY:Learn to Meditate – Shamata (Shiné)
DESCRIPTION:With Amrit Wagner\nthere is an ongoing practice for students of all levels\, newcomers and long time students alike\, at the Ripa International Center. The practice is led by Amrit Wagner\, an approved meditation instructor under the guidance of Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche. For more information on the weekly Shiné sittings\, please contact: info@ripa-international.com \n  \n\n\nTHE IMPORTANCE OF MEDITATION: “The only way to know mind and to attain wisdom is through meditation.

SUMMARY:Vipassana meditation retreat in full silence
DESCRIPTION:With Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche \nApproaching emptiness and the nature of reality \nThe experience of emptiness is one of the most puzzling aspects of Buddha’s teachings; while we can intuitively relate to the truth of impermanence to some extent\, it is difficult for most of us to understand the notion of emptiness which is often likened to a big vacuum or some sort of state of deprivation; yet\, according to Buddha’s teachings\, the experience of emptiness plays a central role in liberating beings from pain and suffering.\nDuring this end-of-year retreat\, Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoché will guide participants into exploring the experience of emptiness as the key insight into transforming our lives. Building on basic teachings and guided practice\, he will train participants into developing “ways of looking” that help free the mind from conceptual fabrication. \nRETREAT IN FULL SILENCE. \nPrerequisite: meditation experience

This enables us to develop a better acceptance of obstacles and respectful relationship with nature\, with ourselves and with others. \nThe chinese term of “Kado” means “The Way of Flowers” and was first developed in China over 2300 years ago. When it was introduced and assimilated into Japan\, the Japanese word “Ikebana” arose\, meaning “living or natural flowers”. Kado is a contemplative practice that studies nature as it is and hence\, humans being part of the all compassing nature\, we simultaneously study ourselves as we are when working with natural materials in Kado. \nThe ultimate purpose in Kado is not to make pleasant flower arrangements\, but cultivate appreciation for each moment\, to work with obstacles\, and to develop respect for ourselves\, others and all forms of life. \nWith May Isler – she has been student of Marcia Shibata for 20 years and is authorized to conduct workshops as part of the Shambhala Kado Rigden Ikebana School.

SUMMARY:Learn to meditate – Shiné
DESCRIPTION:With Amrit Wagner \nThere is an ongoing practice for students of all levels\, newcomers and long time students alike\, at the Ripa International Center. The practice is led by Amrit Wagner\, an approved meditation instructor under the guidance of Dungsey Gyeterul Jigme Rinpoche. For more information on the weekly Shiné sittings\, please contact: info@ripa-international.com \nTHE IMPORTANCE OF MEDITATION: “The only way to know mind and to attain wisdom is through meditation. It is by developing wisdom and compassion that we are able to be of the greatest assistance to others…. compassion heals.” – Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche
