SUMMARY:Summer Retreat 2018: Life\, Death and Rebirth – A Buddhist Perspective With Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche
DESCRIPTION:Summer Retreat 2018 :  27th July – 18th August  \nModule 1 : 27th July – 2nd August      Life\, death and rebirth: a Buddhist perspective \nBased on the traditional Tibetan teachings of the Bardo Thödol with Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche \nModule 2 : 4th – 10th August             Taksham Yeshe Tsogyal Drupchö (5 days) \nWith His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche\, Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche and Dungsey Lhuntrul Rinpoche \nModule 3 :  10th – 18th August           Hayagriva Drupchö (7 days) \nLed by Dungsey Lhuntrul Dechen Rinpoche\, in the presence of His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche and Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche \n*** \nModule 1 :  \n27th July – 2nd August      Life\, death and rebirth: a Buddhist perspective \nBased on the traditional Tibetan teachings of the Bardo Thödol \nwith Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche \nDuring this week of teachings\, Rinpoche will describe the process of death and the various stages of the Bardo\, and will give practical advice on how to best prepare for our own death as well as how to best accompany the dying. \nAccording to the Buddhist notions of impermanence and change\, death is a part of the natural process of birth\, old-age\, death and rebirth; it is not considered to be the end of life\, but merely the demise of the body we inhabit. Our mind stream remains and seeks out – through the craving of attachment –  a new body\, a new life. What that new life will be is determined by our past actions… \nProvided that we have familiarized ourselves with the true nature of our mind through meditative practice\, the moment of death is a great opportunity to recognize our inherent clear light and merge with it\, hence attaining liberation. \nArrival of participants on Friday\, 27th July at 4 pm \n3rd August                     Shitro Puja: 100 peaceful and wrathful deities puja \nWith His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche\, Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche and Dungsey Lhuntrul Rinpoche \nShitro refers to the 42 peaceful and 58 wrathful deities. From an absolute point of view\, these lie within our mind stream. By familiarizing ourselves with them through the practice of the Shitro puja\, it becomes easier to recognize them at the moment of death\, and to seize this opportunity to merge with our Buddha nature. \n4th August                     Shitro Empowerment \nWith His Eminence Namkha Drimed Rabjam Rinpoche\, Dungsey Gyetrul Jigme Rinpoche and Dungsey Lhuntrul Rinpoche \nReceiving the Shitro empowerment purifies broken Samayas (practice commitments) and helps one go through the Bardo stages without fear and in full trust of recognizing the 100 peaceful and wrathful deities. It is said that even hearing the name of the 100 deities closes the door to rebirth in lower realms. \nTertön Karma Lingpa discovered the Shitro terma which is widely practiced by the Kagyu and Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism. \nLingdro dances\, with the Swiss Tibetan Lingdro group \nProgramme ends on Saturday\, 4th August at 6 pm \nProgramme from 27th July till 4th August open to all \nPossibility to attend on Friday\, 3rd and Saturday\, 4th August (2 days) or to attend on 3 August or 4 August (1 day) separately from the rest of the programme. \nMore info: info@ripa-international.com \nOfficial registrations will open soon.
