The Los Angeles Sangha is proud to announce that Lila Downs, the
talented Mexican American singer whose music was featured in the
movie Frida, has agreed to do a benefit concert for the Ripa Ladrang
Foundation to raise funds for the New Treasures Project. Her music
has been described as fusing jazz, gospel and hip-hop influences
into her own unique style.
The concert will take place in Los Angeles, on Tuesday, October
12, 2004 at 8:00 p.m.
The proceeds of the concert will go to support our fundraising
efforts for the New Treasures project.
The Los Angeles Sangha would personally like to extend an invitation
to everyone to attend this wonderful event. Ticket prices are $24,
$40, $60 and $100. An order form is attached. If you are not able
to attend the event, we ask that you can help us spread the word
on our wonderful project by purchasing tickets and then allowing
us distribute them to students or other individuals who may not
be able to afford to pay for the concert.
We are also seeking individual and corporate sponsors for the
event. Sponsorship opportunities are available at the $5000, $3000
and $1000 level. The attached sponsorship form will provide you
with more details on the benefits of becoming a sponsor.
